About Roof Sure
Solving Problems and not treating symptoms.
Roof Sure came into being in October of 1997 after a two year stint with Roof Solutions. From the very start our motto was “We don’t treat symptoms, we solve problems” and that has created the success story of Roof Sure 29 years later. We climb on so many roofs where the “problems” were NOT identified and repaired, but rather covered with another layer of membrane and coat of sealant, hiding the true origin of the “problem” from the eyes of the property owner. Roof Sure cannot do that, since we stand by our written guarantee that so many of our clients can attest to. If one doesn’t have the time to do it right from the start, when will you get the time to go back to attend to a “come-back”? So we’d rather not work on a property than do substandard work to fall within a budget….that has never really worked for us.
Roof Sure believes in doing the right thing first time right. Not that we don’t make mistakes or miss something on a roof, but we’ll always go back and do our best to rectify whatever additional problems we might find. Remember, we work on a roof when the sun shines, but I can tell you this, I’ve been on a more roofs than I can remember IN the pouring rain to see for myself what is happening there. Have you ever done that? Have you seen the volume of water that comes of a decent size roof? Do you understand the dynamics of water flow and the importance of keeping that flow unhindered? A roof works like your car. If you drive your car in a rain storm, you should be 100% dry. If you drive your car into a lake you’ll most likely drown inside that car before you can get out. Why is that? It’s because your car is NOT waterproof. And neither is your roof. Your roof is suppose to catch whatever water falls on it from the clouds, and get it as quickly and efficiently as possible outside of the parapet walls of your house, where it can be managed by a guttering system. Any interference in this process will cause the water to flow back into your roof and subsequently into your building. “Membrane and sealant” is not the ideal way to achieve this.
Surface preparation. Can’t stress this point enough. You can buy the most expensive paint in the world, but if the surface you’re going to apply it to is not properly prepared, that paint will stick to the dust and dirt on that surface, but the dust and dirt won’t stick to the surface and your expensive paint will start peeling. That is as simple as it is. Surface preparation can sometimes take a week or more, while painting the roof can take two to three hours. That is for a reason. Painting a roof is the easy part, preparing the surface so that the paint will stick to it for the next foreseeable future, is another matter altogether. Roof Sure has roofs on our books that were painted more than 15 years ago, and that are still good to this day. Why? Because we know how to prepare a surface before we paint it. Sometimes that irritate some of clients, because they wanted their roofs done in a week, but afterwards they thank us, for doing a good job and making their investment last.
